Frequently Asked Questions
Do we have an elevator? No, unfortunately there is not a suitable location to place one inside the building. Our rooms and suites are located on the second floor, up two flights of stairs.
Do we provide breakfast service? No, however, we offer to go items at our coffee bar located in the lobby on the second floor.
Do we allow pets? Yes, however, there is a $25 non-refundable fee for each night of your stay. Pets must be well behaved, never left alone in the room, and on a leash when you are moving inside the building.
What about service dogs? When it is not obvious what service the dog provides, only limited inquiries are allowed. Staff may ask two questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability, and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform. The work or task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.
Do we offer late check in service? Yes, please call (719) 738-5700 and let us know if you plan to arrive after 9 PM.
Do we offer early check in service? Mostly yes, depending on our staff capacity, please call (719) 738-5700 and let's chat.
What restaurants are open on Sunday or Monday in Walsenburg? Please visit our local tourism website for a comprehensive list of establishments.
Do you have a guest office? No, but we're working out ideas of where we could put one.
Do you have WiFi? Yes, fiber business service from our local provider, SECOM. Is it fast? Eh. Depends on your needs.
Are there coffee makers in each room? No. The coffee maker is located at the to-go coffee bar in the lobby on the second floor.
Where do I park? Diagonal parking spots are available on both sides of sixth street. There is a lot directly across the street from the hotel that we do not own but is used by the public for parking. Overnight parking directly front of the hotel is allowed.
Can I hear the train from my room or suite? Yes. The train runs at all hours of the day. Conductors honk the horn three times at each crossing, we're in between two crossings.
Where can I get water or ice? Bring your bucket down and we would be happy to fill it from our commercial ice machine in the restaurant. Filtered water is available as well.
Do you have any revitalization plans? Yes. We are working through the Colorado C-PACE program and hope to start construction in the first part of 2021. New roof, windows, HVAC units, electrical, and new commercial equipment. Colorado Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) is a financing tool that allows commercial and multifamily property owners to finance qualifying energy efficiency, water conservation, and other clean energy improvements on existing and newly constructed properties, with repayment of the financing through a voluntary assessment on their property tax bill.
What year was the hotel built? 1914. These are the only images we have found thus far. This building has housed a hotel, restaurant, dance hall, and bus station ... that we know of.
